At Hill View Primary School History is a valued and equal element to our curriculum. We aim to stimulate children’s understanding about past life in Britain and that of the wider world. We provide purposeful learning through an enquiry curriculum driven by topic and chronological knowledge as well as substantive concepts. The curriculum planning presents opportunities for children to expand their knowledge through cause and consequence, change and continuity, similarity and difference, historical significance, sources and evidence as well as historical interpretations.

At Hill View it is our ambition that every young person should be able to experience music and to make progress. This includes singing, as well as having the opportunity to learn an instrument through whole-class ensemble and small-group teaching at Key Stage 2. This document shows the framework through which we deliver the music curriculum. Our provision is supported by music specialists and the Accent Music Education Hub: https://www.warrington.gov.uk/accent-music-hub
